Meet the Gunsmithing Instructors!

Below are some of the Gunsmithing faculty at Lassen Community College.

John Martin: Full-time instructor Lassen Community College Gunsmithing Program since 2001. Owner of a gunsmithing business specializing in general firearms repair and custom varmint rifles. He also has extensive experience in warranty repair for most U.S. small arms makers. 1994 graduate of Lassen Community College Gunsmithing Program.
Bob Chavez: Lassen Community College Gunsmithing instructor, specialized in commercial repair and warranty gunsmithing. Graduate of Lassen Community College Gunsmithing Program. Instructs law enforcement armorers schools both nationally and internationally.
Andrew Faircloth: Lassen Community College Gunsmithing Program instructor. Experienced gunsmith performing general repairs, factory warranty repairs and building custom rifles. Graduate of Lassen Community College Gunsmithing Program.
Martin Scott: A retired Federal Law Enforcement agent, began as a Lassen Community College gunsmithing instructor in 2001, teaching Law Enforcement armorer schools in the NRA summer sessions, and handgun courses in the Fall and Spring terms. Has been a professional gunsmith for over 30 years, and he currently runs a gunsmithing business near Reno, Nevada. He received extensive training in the gunsmithing arts at Lassen and Trinidad Colleges and in numerous manufacturer's, armorer's, and gunsmith courses.
